A partnership agreement has been signed between the International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS) and the State Tourism Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan aimed at developing the potential of winter tourism and winter sports, as well as positioning Azerbaijan as a host country for prestigious international competitions in winter sports.

The agreement outlines joint cooperation to enhance and expand the existing infrastructure in the field of winter tourism, to transform Azerbaijan into an attractive destination for foreign tourists, and to organize international ski competitions at the Shahdag Mountain Resort.

One of the key objectives within the framework of international cooperation is to promote Azerbaijan as a destination for world-class professional winter sports events. It also aims to launch large-scale marketing and promotional campaigns to raise the international profile of Azerbaijan’s tourism brand and products.

Under the agreement, Azerbaijan will participate as a “Global Destination Partner” in international competitions (world cups and championships) organized by the International Ski and Snowboard Federation.

It is worth noting that starting from the upcoming winter season, world-class competitions under the auspices of the International Ski and Snowboard Federation are planned to be held at the Shahdag Mountain Resort.
